Applicants should be Ugandans holding an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Finance and Accounting; or Financial Management; or Accountancy; or Business Administration (Accounting or Finance); or Commerce (Accounting or Finance) plus a Masters Degree in Finance and Accounting; or Financial Management; or Accountancy; or Business Administration; or a Management related discipline from a recognized University/Institution. A full professional qualification in Accountancy obtained from a recognized awarding Institution Member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants (ICPAU). OR For non-1st Degree holders Full professional qualification in Accountancy obtained from a recognized awarding Institution accredited by the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU) plus A Master’s degree in Finance and Accounting, Financial Management, Accountancy, or Business Administration or Management related field Member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants (ICPAU). 

Work Experience

Applicants should have a minimum of six (6) years of working experience in Finance or Accounting field, three (3) of which should have been served as a Senior Accountant in Government or, an equivalent level of work experience from a reputable organization.

Duties 


  • The incumbent will be responsible to the Assistant Commissioner –Students Financing for performing the following duties:-
  • Supervising the loan assessment and award process, ensuring that all applications are reviewed thoroughly and fairly;
  • Ensuring compliance with regulations and guidelines in awarding loans;
  •  Developing and implementing strategies for assessing students' financial needs;
  • Collaborating with academic and administrative staff to streamline the loan application process;
  • Overseeing the training and development of staff in the loans assessment and award unit;
  • Maintaining accurate records of loan disbursements and related activities;
  • Preparing periodic reports on loan assessments, awards, and trends;
  • Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time
